AYSO EXTRA Play Program
Region 111 San Clemente

(Formerly AYSO Plus)

THE 2011 EXTRA TEAMS HAVE BEEN FORMED

Congratulations to all selected players!

The Fall 2011 Extra team tryouts have been completed. Thank you to all that turned out for each of the teams. We had a good turnout and selection was difficult. If you didn't make a team this year, we encourage you to keep working on developing your soccer skills in the fall season of league play and try again next year.

To those that made a team, congratulations! We are excited to have you representing San Clemente as you travel to other cities to compete against other Extra teams. Remember to be good representatives of our region, and of AYSO.

Good luck and have a great season this fall

Interested in an opportunity for your child to play a higher level of AYSO soccer this season?

The AYSO Extra Play Program offers players the opportunity to play at a more competitive level than the Recreational level.   There are NO ADDITIONAL Registration fees to play in this program.

The Extra program was developed for U9 through U14 players with advanced soccer skills.   This AYSO program is recognizing the needs of the more competitive player.  Many participating regions will have Boys and Girls teams in U9, U10, U11, U12, U13 and U14 brackets.  Players participating in this program will compete against other Extra teams from different regions and local areas.  While many Extra games will be played within Area L (South Orange County), some games will be played outside Area L.  There will be Saturday and Sunday games with the season lasting from September to December.  Many teams will continue in the Spring season as a Select team and participate in tournaments, if they wish.

Players must tryout and be selected to play in the Extra program.

Player evaluation is made by a committee based on the player’s soccer skills, attitude and competitiveness.   Players must attend at least one of the scheduled tryouts to be eligible but both tryouts are recommended as players with the highest ratings from both tryouts will be selected on the team.

For a list of upcoming AYSO Extra tryouts see below

AYSO Extra players may not play soccer for any other team or organization during the Fall season September through December.  (This includes Guest playing on a club roster)

All age brackets are not guaranteed.  We will need qualified coaches and ENOUGH qualified players at tryouts to form teams in each age bracket.

This program provides a team for each age level, unlike Recreational soccer where two ages are combined in a division.  For example, the recreational program combines the ten year old players and eleven year old players in the Under 12 division.  The Extra program provides a team for Under  11 and a separate team for Under  12.  There are also teams for Under  13 and Under  14.   Under 9 and Under 10 divisions which will be playing 7 v 7 with 10 on a roster.
